Hospice lottery players funded care for 123 patients supported by Weldmar’s Specialist Hospice at Home in 2025 – sign up today and make an even bigger difference in 2026

You may not think that a £1 entry into Your Hospice Lottery may make much difference to hospice care in Dorset – but think again.

Collectively, players of the lottery who support Weldmar Hospicecare contributed a huge £199,175 during 2025.

This total is enough to fund the care of 123 patients being supported by Weldmar’s Specialist Hospice at Home. This service operates hubs in the south, west, and north of Dorset, with a team of Weldmar Community Nurses and other health care professionals on hand to provide advice, guidance, and hands on care depending on each patient’s individual needs.

Natalie Lukha (pictured above, promoting the lottery at a Weldmar charity shop – and recent winner Jane) is Weldmar’s Lottery Coordinator and says, “It’s absolutely wonderful to discover the difference that Your Hospice Lottery players have made to those in Weldmar’s care during 2025. With less than 20% of Weldmar’s funds coming from the NHS, it means we have to raise £27,000 every day to keep all of our services going, from the Specialist Hospice at Home through to counselling, our Wellbeing Support Sessions, therapies, and more.
