It’s the time of year to go out and buy uniforms, stationery, PE kit, and everything else your children need for the start of the school year, and we know that this can get quite pricey. If you choose to shop in Weldmar Hospicecare shops and outlets for all of your back to school items you can support the charity, do your bit for the environment, and ease the pressure on your bank balance.
Top tips for back to school shopping
- Make a list of what you need before you go, the school may have lists available as well
- Take a look at what items you already have to save you from buying things you don’t need
- Take your time to look around and don’t worry if you have to go to a couple of shops
- Ask our staff and volunteers for where things may be to save you from searching if you can’t find it
- Keep an eye on our Facebook Group to see what items might come up that you need
- Donate anything back to Weldmar that your child no longer needs, so that it can be re-loved

Donate your unwanted items
Children grow out of school uniform quickly, and you may be wondering what to do with the unwanted items piling up at home. Declutter for the new term, and bring any good condition clothing, shoes, books and bags to our charity shops and outlets where they can be given a new home, and raise valuable funds for Weldmar Hospicecare. Give the shop or outlet a call first to see if they can take donations and make sure that you can comfortably carry them all. Don’t forget if you are eligible for Gift Aid to sign up at the shop to ensure we receive even more money for your donations!
