The aim of a Volunteer Champion is to provide practical and administrative support in a given area, working between the specialist lead and a team of volunteers.
Based at the Inpatient Unit in Dorchester and working under the direction of the Head Gardener, you will co-ordinate a team of rostered volunteer gardeners, and assist them with any tasks required, such as weeding, watering and dead-heading.
In addition, you will give advice on ideal new plants to put in, and plant maintenance. You will also assist in the issue and monitoring of the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and workwear appropriate to the task.
We ask for a commitment of 8 hours a week, flexible split times, mutually agreed with the Head Gardener, avoiding lone working where possible.
