Volunteer Gardeners (based at the Inpatient Unit)

< BACK TO VOLUNTEERING

✅ Flexibility in managing your particular area of interest in the garden
✅ Meet new people and make new friends
✅ Giving just a few hours of your time can make a real difference
✅ Free parking at our hospice

A garden requires regular maintenance during the growing season, and will bring great pleasure to those who use it when it is up to date and looking its best. Working on rota as part of a team, help us to make the hospice gardens look really lovely for our patients and their families to enjoy. Do you have some time to spare to help with light/general gardening duties such as:

· Tidy and preparation in the Spring

· Plant bulbs, container plants, and sensory borders in raised beds

· Assist the Wellbeing Support Sessions at the allotment

· Dead-head, weeding and watering

· Prune small shrubs

· Sweep up leaves

· Tidy and clear in the Autumn
