‘Pleasure, warmth and comfort’ – why Kathy hand crocheted colourful blankets for our hospice
27th February 2026
The team at our hospice in Dorchester were thrilled to receive a generous donation of hand crocheted blankets this week!
They were made by Kathy, who told us: “The idea to donate them was from a chat I had with my sister in law, whose late mother had been given a blanket when she was in hospice care in Cornwall.
“Knowing her mother gained pleasure and warmth from it gave my sister in law comfort when she lost her mother and inherited the blanket. That inspired me to create these in order provide some comfort for others at a difficult time in their lives.
“I love the idea that they can wrap around people to give them some love, as much care was put into each stitch, over the many hours that they took to create.”
A wonderful gesture – thank you Kathy!
