Meet Reggie Moxom.

Here he is, pictured above with mum Anneka and dad Pete, just seven weeks old.  So we’ll let him off for being asleep in our photo.

Little does he know it, but he helped raise £120 for Weldmar Hospicecare on the day he was born, as Anneka and Pete organised a sweepstake to guess his weight.

Pete’s grandad sadly died at our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester last February.  “Obviously we wanted to do something”, says Pete, “because everyone was brilliant here.  This seemed like a an opportunity to raise some money.”

Anneka says it was a fun way to get family and friends involved, and she signed everyone up to enter at her baby shower.

And the winning weight was … 8lb, 5oz!

Why not think of a unique way that you can raise money for Weldmar?

Emily Fisher is our Community Fundraiser, and would love to hear from you if you would like to do something like Anneka and Pete.  Emily can supply sponsor forms, collection pots or buckets, and give you advice and support if you need it.

As Pete also told us, guessing the weight of Reggie was such a simple idea and easy to organise.

You can contact Emily on 01305 261800 or emily.fisher@weld-hospice.org.uk.
