Weldmar Hospicecare is set to benefit from the first Sutton Poyntz Victorian Street Fayre since 2018.

The popular event is usually held every two years, but had to be cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The day, on Sunday 3rd July, promises plenty of family fun with craft stalls, live music, lots of children’s entertainment, cream teas, Pimms and strawberries, barbeque, a variety of stalls and raffle. And of course, keeping the Victorian tradition alive, villagers and stall holders will be dressed in period costume.

The Weldmar Hospicecare Community Outreach vehicle will be there, where you can find out more about the work of our charity.

There will be two stages featuring live music, including Grand Reunion Band, Mark Penfold’s All Stars, Neil Coad, Weymouth Ukuleleans, Omega Project, Skint Imperials, Dorset for Singing, Cosmic Groove, Charlie, and more.

Around the picturesque village duck-pond there will be village stalls selling gifts, accessories, books, collectibles and bric-a-brac, designer clothes, toys, and country and gardening items.

A children’s area includes craft workshops, circus skills, football skills and ‘beat the goalie’, and toy stalls.

David Langridge, chairman of the Street Fayre committee says: “The Fayre has built a reputation for the family entertainment on offer and people come from far and wide, but it is always about our village having a fun community day and rather successfully managing to give a lot of money to local and national projects and charities”.

A huge thank you to the organisers of the event for making Weldmar Hospicecare their nominated charity for this year.

Admission of £4 per adult, children under 14 free plus free parking, and runs from 11am and 5pm.
