A new makeover for Weldmar's Wareham charity shop in its 15th anniversary year!

Weldmar Hospicecare’s charity shop transformations have continued this month with the reopening of the Wareham shop on West Street. Earlier this month the shop reached its 15th year milestone so giving the shop a brand new look seemed like the perfect way to mark the occasion. The shop was formerly opened by Caroline King from Weldmar’s community team and Wareham Town Mayor, Councillor Marian Cotton, they were both joined by staff and volunteers to celebrate.

Julie has been volunteering at the Wareham charity shop for 10 years, she said “The shop is absolutely amazing, it looks lovely and clean and bright. I think everybody will enjoy coming here to shop.” She would recommend volunteering for Weldmar “I have enjoyed every moment and it is really worthwhile.”

The makeover for the shop has not only given it a more modern and spacious look, but has allowed more messaging about the charity has been included to allow shoppers to know where the money from their donations and shopping is going. The 22 Weldmar charity shops collectively contribute around £1.5M to the money raised each year and make a huge difference to enabling the charity to continue to provide specialist end of life care for adults with a life limiting illness and support for their loved ones.

Deputy Shop Manager Nicky is very excited to have the new look shop open, she said “It’s absolutely transformed, it’s lovely and airy and light. We’ve managed to fit so much more in, and it’s just a lovely place to be.”

The staff and volunteers would love to see shoppers new and returning at the shop at 17 West St, Wareham, the shop is open Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm.
