Weldmar’s popular Make A Will Month returns for a second year
6th August 2020
< BACK TO NEWSWeldmar Hospicecare’s annual Make A Will Month returns this October.
We’ve joined forces with a number of local solicitors, who will be offering a free Will writing service. It’s estimated that more than half the adult population in the UK does not have a Will.

Here’s why making sure you have a Will is important:
- Should the worst happen, your family will have less paperwork, and therefore less stress, to deal with
- It ensures your money and posessions go to who you want them to
- Make sure your children are provided for in the way you want
- You can make a gift to a good cause or charity of your choice, such as Weldmar
Although this is a free service, we’re hoping that anyone who takes advantage of it will make a donation to Weldmar, or even consider leaving a gift in their will for us.
Sarah Balchin is Weldmar’s Legacy Fundraiser, and says, “Having a Will is really important, and can provide peace of mind at the most difficult time. We are delighted that a number of local solicitors have come on board and we thank them for giving their time to this important campaign, so that we can encourage more people to write their Will”.
Money donated in Wills directly pays for one in three patients that we look after, either in the comfort of their own home by our Weldmar Community Nurses, or at our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester.
With fundraising events cancelled, and some charity shops still closed, securing this funding to secure Weldmar services in the future is even more important.
Thank you to Battens, Blanchards Bailey, Hillman Legal Partnerships, Humphries Kirk, Kitson & Trotman, Nantes, and Porter Dodson, who are all participating in Make A Will Month.
