At home, closeness is completely natural. Sitting together on the sofa, holding hands, or sharing a bed with a partner or a much loved pet are the simple moments that define our lives. But when a loved one is in hospice care, a standard hospital bed can become an unintended physical barrier right when closeness matters most.
When time is painfully short, not being able to easily hold or comfort the person you love can leave families feeling disconnected. A Cuddle Bed changes everything. Specifically designed to extend to almost double its width, a cuddle bed allows loved ones, children, and even beloved pets to lie safely beside one another. They allow families to share a space full of love, comfort, and of simply being together.
Why we need your help today
Right now, we can only offer this vital comfort to one in every twelve patients at our Inpatient Unit. Our hope is to change that, but we cannot do it without you.
Our target: £30,000
Our goal: To fund two additional cuddle beds, costing £15,000 each
Every pound raised ensures more husbands, wives, parents, and children can experience the powerful comfort of holding one another, right to the very end.
Jemma says: From the beginning of my dad's cancer journey, my mum made him a promise that she would stay close, hold his hand, and be there as she always had been throughout their life together. The Cuddle Bed allowed her to keep that promise, and fulfilled my dad's dying wish not to be alone, and to be held by the one he loved the most.
