Volunteer Sitters in the community

< BACK TO VOLUNTEERING

✅Be part of our dedicated and supportive team
✅Full training, support and advice to help you fulfil your role
✅Building community awareness
✅Helping to make a difference
✅Out of pocket expenses reimbursed

The aim of a volunteer sitter in the community is to provide limited respite for a patient at home, enabling the main caregiver to have a break to attend Weldmar’s support groups, or go shopping, or attend an appointment for themselves.

You may be offering quiet company at bedside, or engage in social chat, or indulge in light interaction such as crosswords, jigsaws, reading. Where possible patients will be allocated local to you in the community, and you will be given a full handover.

You are not expected to provide clinical or personal care. We are looking for a commitment of up to half a day a week according to your availability.
