A ‘Win Win’ for everyone: Sally celebrates scooping £1,000 on Your Hospice Lottery – and donates half back to Weldmar

There is nothing quite like the excitement of a surprise phone call when you’re told that you’ve just won £1,000.

That’s exactly what happened to Weldmar supporter Sally Reay, our latest lucky winner on Your Hospice Lottery. Sally picked up her winning ticket at our Blandford Outlet.

Recalling the moment she found out, Sally admitted that the news took a moment to sink in. “I was in shock, to be honest. I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I had to check the number two or three times to make sure it was right. I felt a little bit shaky, but so excited!”

Sally knew exactly what she wanted to do with her winnings. As a very generous gesture gesture she has decided to donate half of her winnings back to Weldmar Hospicecare. The remaining half will fund a well deserved weekend away with her husband.

For Sally though, playing the lottery isn’t just about the chance of a jackpot; it’s a way to give back to a service that has stood by her family during their most difficult times.

“The hospice movement is fantastic,” Sally explained. “My family has benefited over the years – my father, my brother, and most recently, my son. I know how valuable it is for the community and it’s important to support it as much as we can.

By ‘topping up’ her charity shop purchases with a lottery ticket or two each week, Sally has found a simple, affordable way to ensure other families receive the same specialist care her loved ones did.
