A ‘quacker’ of a donation from Ducks and Drakes Cancer Trust!

28th November 2019

Ducks & Drakes Cancer Trust has continued it’s support for Weldmar Hospicecare, presenting a cheque to us for £6,540.

£3,000 of the donation is being used for bedding and equipment, and £3,540 is for training for people to work with bereaved children.

“This level of support is absolutely part of what we strive to do in supporting cancer patients and their families in Dorset. We are pleased that the funds raised through tireless hard work and fundraising by our wonderful team of supporters and committee members can be put to such good use. Thank you for your continuing support”, says Annette Drakes, co-founder of Ducks & Drakes.

Caroline Hamblett, CEO of Weldmar, added, “The support from Ducks and Drakes is fantastic. Their funding has enabled us to support so many families facing bereavement.  We are very fortunate to have such great support. Thank you.”

The funds have been raised throughout the year with generous donations from sponsored hair cuts, barbeques, local community events, as well as Ducks & Drakes’ own events such as the annual Clay Shoot, and ‘Duck Fest’ – a two day music festival at Charminster with local bands, camping, food, and children’s entertainment.
