Donkeys provide festive cheer for patients at our IPU
16th December 2020
Patients staying at our Inpatient Unit, and those attending Day Services, were treated to some very special visitors today.
Two miniature donkeys, Albert and Snoopy, which belong to the Hyde family who run Trinity Street Christmas Trees, came in to see everybody.
Tamzin Hyde says, “For the rest of the year they are in their field and everyone adores them so much, and love seeing them when we take them for walks around the village! This is our third Christmas visit to the hospice with the donkeys, and it’s nice to share the donkey love!”
“They bring so much pleasure to people, and they are so good and sweet and funny, so it’s a nice thing to do to light up the day of both patients and staff at Weldmar. Especially with this year being so difficult for everybody, we weren’t sure if we could bring them, so I was really glad when Emma Mills, the Senior Sister, said we could.”

Our thanks to the Hyde family for making this special treat possible once again.
