22nd September 2025
On Thursday 11th September, staff from Dream Cottages and Lyme Bay Holidays, two of Dorset’s leading holiday letting agencies, laced up their walking boots for a fundraising challenge along the world-famous Jurassic Coast.
A team of 12 colleagues tackled a demanding 12-mile coastal hike from Burton Bradstock to Lyme Regis all for their charity of the year, Weldmar Hospicecare, taking in dramatic clifftop views and passing many of their much-loved holiday properties along the way.
The group raised more than £1,500 through donations, and with parent company Sykes Holiday Cottages able to match the amount, the total now stands at £3,130 for the charity.
“It was really tough going at times, but the scenery was breathtaking, and the support we received has been incredible,” said Dan Millbanks, Regional Owner Experience Manager at Lyme Bay Holidays and Dream Cottages. “We’re so proud of our team for completing the challenge and so grateful to everyone who donated. We know how special the Jurassic Coast is to our guests and owners, so it felt fitting to take on this walk to give something back” he added.
The walk reflects both companies’ ongoing commitment to supporting the Dorset community.
Fundraising Lead for Weldmar Hospicecare, Fiona Hansford, says: “We’re incredibly grateful to the team at Dream Cottages and Lyme Bay Holidays for their fantastic fundraising efforts. It’s wonderful to see their employees coming together to complete this challenging walk for Weldmar. The funds they’ve raised will make a real difference, helping us provide crucial care for local adults with a life limiting illness and support for their families. We’re so proud to have them as charity partners.”
