A tasty partnership: Flapjackery in Lyme Regis pledge support to Weldmar Hospicecare
10th June 2025
< BACK TO NEWSWe’re licking our lips at Weldmar, following the news that a renowned south west business specialising in flapjacks will be supporting the charity.
Flapjackery have opened new premises on Broad Street, right in the heart of the town.
This year, the company celebrates its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of making some of the finest flapjacks packed with British gluten-free oats and quality ingredients.
Founded in Tavistock, Flapjackery has grown from humble beginnings into a multi award-winning business. The brand’s commitment to using only the best ingredients, including West Country butter, fair-trade golden syrup, and home-grown oats, has earned it a loyal following far beyond the county’s borders.
They have put together a special ‘charity box’ selection, including a chocolate fudge, Raspberry Millionaire, and traditional flapjack. 50p from the sale of each box will come to Weldmar, and help support local adults who are experiencing life limiting illness and their loved ones, through the charity’s Specialist Hospice at Home hub for the west of the county and other services.
Co-founder Carol Myott said: “We’re thrilled to have opened a new shop in Lyme Regis, a town we’ve long admired. Each of our shops supports a charity and we’re delighted that our Lyme Regis shop has chosen Weldmar Hospicecare, an important charity which provides end of life care for adults in Dorset care with life limiting illness.”
Fiona Hansford, Fundraising Lead at Weldmar Hospicecare, says “It’s always wonderful to welcome a new business supporter, and we are very grateful to be the nominated charity for such a well respected, growing brand in Flapjackery. Although we have provided our specialist care services for the people of Lyme Regis for a number of years, we have worked hard to raise our profile and awareness in the town recently. The elephants that formed part of our Stampede by the Sea trail proved very popular, and we’re delighted that it’s having a positive effect on local support for the charity. The flapjacks are absolutely delicious, and we’re sure the charity boxes will be very popular! Thank you, Flapjackery.”
Despite its national growth, Flapjackery remains firmly rooted in the West Country. Its bakery continues to operate from Tavistock, and the business prides itself on using traceable, high-quality ingredients and traditional methods. Each flapjack is mixed and baked by hand. Nothing is rushed or mass produced. As a gluten-free bakery, Flapjackery’s range is accessible to more people, without compromising on flavour or texture.
In addition to its shops and online business, Flapjackery is a familiar face at food festivals and major events such as the London Marathon, BBC Good Food, and Badminton Horse Trials. The brand is also known for its bold packaging, witty flavour names, and personal touches including hand-piped messages for birthdays and special occasions.
Flapjackery is open at 53 Broad Street, 10am to 4pm, seven days a week.
