Wellbeing Sessions are a special part of the care provided by Weldmar Hospicecare. Based around a range of sociable activities, they provide patients, carers and those experiencing bereavement the opportunity to come together and receive support in a relaxed and informal environment. We’re currently looking for an individual with excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills to lead and develop this service.
Ideally experienced in working in a palliative care environment, you’ll need an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a care related field, with the ability to manage the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of patients, their carers and families in a group setting.
Line management of Wellbeing Support Workers and volunteers is an integral part of the role, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team covering all other aspects of Weldmar’s care services.
As one recent attendee of our Wellbeing Sessions said, “We laugh and chat and it lifts me so much. Nobody’s going to say the wrong thing in front of you, because we’re all going through the same thing. Outside of this, people often don’t understand and don’t know what to say.”
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join Weldmar’s Patient and Family Support Services Team, and drive forward a service that makes a huge difference to those who attend.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this role, please refer to the job description within the Candidate Pack.
