Local rugby players run ‘1000 Miles in March’ for Weldmar

Players from Weymouth & Portland RFC are collectively aiming to run one thousand miles throughout March, to raise money for Weldmar Hospicecare.

More than twenty senior players have taken up the challenge, which has seen a number of former players from across the country – and even one in South Africa – also join in.

Just ten days into the challenge, they have smashed their target of £1,000, with money raised being split between Weldmar and the club, who have not been able to play a match for a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
