VOLUNTEERS WEEK: Dave cooks up a storm!

This week is National Volunteers Week, and Weldmar Hospicecare relies heavily on an army of volunteers doing a wide variety of roles.  Without them, we simply couldn’t provide the outstanding care and support we do in Dorset.

Every day this week we’re featuring a different area of Weldmar where we have volunteers providing a valuable service.

Meet Dave Heap, Weldmar’s volunteer chef.

Dave volunteers two days a week at Joseph Weld, assisting the team to make sandwiches, soups and cakes. In the video below, Dave tell us about the satisfaction he gets from working in the kitchen and how is voluntary role gives him something to aim for each day.

He particularly enjoys turning food that may otherwise be thrown away into something delicious!
