Making every moment matter: Mother-of-the-bride Catherine joins her daughter’s wedding celebrations in our hospice gardens

Being mother-of-the-bride is always a proud day.

Today, Catherine has been able to be part of her daughter’s special celebrations with a special wedding reception held at our hospice in Dorchester.

Bethan tied the knot with Emily earlier in a small ceremony at County Hall, and family and friends joined the happy couple outside The Retreat garden room.

Emily says it means the world to be able to have their reception at Weldmar: “It’s such a wonderful facility and it’s given us the platform to be able to make sure Catherine is included, as she should be. The staff here have gone above and beyond to make this possible, and we’re ever so grateful.”

Bethan says the family have been warmly welcomed at the hospice: “You can start with the care – the amazing care my mum’s had from everyone from the doctors to the nurses to the HCAs (Health Care Assistants) to the housekeepers, and all the brilliant stuff they have done.

“It’s a beautiful space, and we’ve got the gardens – we’d have paid to have been somewhere like this! Mum’s room is literally a stone’s throw away from here so there’s no stress, and it’s helped create some really nice memories.”
