21. Julian Fellowes
The Lord Fellowes of West Stafford, DL

Julian is best known as the creator and co-writer for the worldwide popular historical drama, Downton Abbey. Residing in Dorset, Julian has been a loyal supporter of Weldmar Hospicecare for over 20 years.
Whether Julian has been seen opening one of Weldmar’s new charity shops or attending the annual Weldmar Summer Fete, his support towards the charity has not gone unnoticed.

In 2009, Julian generously organised the world premier of The Young Victoria, a film which he was the scriptwriter featuring Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend. Held at the Electric Palace in Bridport, over 400 people attended, helping to raise over £9,000 for Weldmar Hospicecare.

In 2016, Julian organised an event, with award winning duo George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, shedding the light on the process of writing a musical. The evening included a performance of songs from West End performer Caroline Sheen with songs from Half a Sixpence, The Wind in the Willows and Mary Poppins, again, raising vital funds for Weldmar Hospicecare.

To this day, Julian continues supporting the charity as one of Weldmar’s Vice-Presidents, and kindly opens his garden to allow Weldmar to host summer garden events to thank supporters during our milestone anniversaries.

Weldmar Hospicecare would like to thank Julian and his wife, Emma, for their continued support towards our services.
