Not all hospice heroes wear nurses’ uniforms! Celebrating the impact of administrators across our charity
22nd April 2026
Did you know that today is Administrative Professionals Day? We couldn’t do what we do without the support of incredible people in our offices and on reception.
All aspects of our charity rely on people who keep our services running efficiently – whether that’s our Specialist Hospice at Home, our hospice, Patient & Family Support Services, and functions such as retail, fundraising, People Services, and more. Some of our administrators are pictured above.
Becca Grove is the administrator for Weldmar’s Specialist Hospice at Home, and says: “I would say that having joined the team relatively recently, I have felt welcomed and supported when things have been tough and emotional. The team is hard working, professional, kind and cares about our patients, relatives and the people that they work with. No two days are the same and can be difficult but the team always know how to make me laugh.”
“We are often the first port of call for both patients and families and have to deal with some difficult conversations and situations both in person and via the phone,” says hospice receptionist Emma Mansell. “I always know that the rest of the team will be their to support me, have a chat if needed, reassure me and there is always some humour when needed.”
Karen Arnold, who is based at our hospice, says: “As an administrative team we provide calm support behind the scenes so others can focus on care. With compassion, attention to detail, and a strong team spirit, we ensure everything runs smoothly, always keeping dignity, respect, and empathy at the heart of what we do.”
Thank you to all of our wonderful administrators!
