Experience the value of volunteering – The Big Help Out returns, and your local Weldmar shop would love you to ‘lend a hand and make a change’
24th May 2024
If you have considered volunteering in one of our shops before, but not sure what is involved or whether it would be for you, The Big Help Out is a perfect opportunity to give it a go! You can find out why so many of our supporters love volunteering for Weldmar!
The Big Help Out initiative was launched as part of the King’s coronation celebrations last year, with 7.2million people getting out and volunteering in their local communities across the country. Weldmar is delighted to be taking part in the Big Help Out again this year, with lots of volunteering taster sessions across our charity shops and outlets throughout Dorset.

Why I volunteer – meet some of our team
We are lucky to have a brilliant team of volunteers, who contribute hugely to the running of our chain of charity shops across Dorset.
Here, some of our volunteers explain what they enjoy about volunteering, and the support that they get from their staff colleagues.
Why I volunteer – Rachel Mandy, Retail Volunteer for Weldmar
Rachel volunteers at our Dorchester Charity Shop in Trinity Street, carrying out a variety of tasks including serving customers on the till, sorting items, and steaming clothes. She really enjoys volunteering “It’s giving back to the community that you live in which I think is a good thing to do. It’s really fun, you have a good laugh and meet lots of people from all walks of life. I would recommend volunteering; it is good for the soul!”
