Dorchester’s Vivo Lounge goes all out for Weldmar with a month of LoungeAid Fun!

Throughout the month of June, the team at Vivo Lounge is turning fun into fundraising as they dedicate their annual, month-long LoungeAid initiative to supporting Weldmar Hospicecare. With an exciting line up of community events ranging from standard pub quizzes to high-flying adrenaline rushes, there are plenty of ways for locals to get involved and help them in their mission!

This year, Vivo Lounge’s Ellie chose Weldmar Hospicecare following her own family’s experiences with our specialist care.

“Every June, Lounges host a month-long charity initiative called LoungeAid. Each Lounge selects a local charity and organises various fundraising events. This year, I chose Weldmar Hospice.” Says Lounge team member, Ellie.

“It’s a charity close to my mum’s heart, having been instrumental in looking after my Grandma bef0re she passed. Growing up, we’ve always supported Weldmar by attending events like the Summer Fete and carol singing.

“I wanted to continue this support, especially since my Mum was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness. These times can be incredibly difficult, but charities like Weldmar provide invaluable assistance.”

“I know many families across Dorset have benefitted from their care, including other members of staff and customers too. It’s reassuring to know that when the time comes, we’re in good hands.”

What’s on at Vivo Lounge in June?

The team has put together a fantastic schedule of events happening at the Dorchester venue throughout the month. Mark your calendars, tell your friends and family, and help them raise as much as possible!

Thursday 4th June: Charity Bingo & Raffle (7:00pm) An evening of fun, numbers, and fantastic prizes. Action is expected to kick off around 7:00pm.

Friday 19th June: Craft & Cake Day Drop in during the day to browse beautiful handmade crafts and enjoy a delicious selection of cakes. Perfect for a Friday treat. (Keep an eye on Vivo Lounge’s social media for exact timings closer to the date).

Wednesday 24th June: Sponsored Walk The team will be putting their best foot forward, stepping out and doing a 10-mile sponsored walk around Portland!

Thursday 25th June: Football Charity Quiz (6:00pm – 8:00pm) Test your football knowledge against Dorchester’s finest sports brains. Gather a team and see if you can take home the win!

Friday 21st August: Sponsored Skydive Vivo Lounge’s very own Nerys is taking to the skies! She will be leaping from a plane in a daring sponsored skydive to raise funds.

At the lounge all month long: Spin the Wheel!

Can’t make it to one of their scheduled events? You can still join in the fun any day of the week. Throughout the entirety of June, Vivo Lounge features a fundraising ‘Spin the Wheel’ right on the bar. Drop a donation into the bucket, give the wheel a spin, and you could instantly win a free drink, a delicious dessert, or other great treats!

Weldmar Hospicecare relies heavily on the generosity of our local community and businesses like Vivo Lounge to continue providing free, specialist end of life care to patients and supportive comfort to their families across Dorset when they need it most, we’re blown away by the generosity – especially as the Vivo Lounge team are also donating their tips!
