21st May 2025
< BACK TO NEWSTwenty incredible supporters overcame their fears and abseiled to raise a combined total of £6,205 for Weldmar Hospicecare, with every penny raised on the day going towards providing specialist care for adults in Dorset with a life limiting illness, and support for their loved ones. It was yet again glorious weather for the second year of the Abseil for Weldmar challenge on Portland. The challenge was launched for the first time last year as part of the charity’s 30th anniversary celebrations. The participants were calmed of their nerves by Alex and James from the team at Adventure4All, who partnered again this year with Weldmar Hospicecare for the challenge.
Eden Fraser, Weldmar Fundraiser, was there to support the abseilers on the day. She said, “The sun was shining and the group were so supportive of each other as they descended the 40m cliff face. We’re so proud of each and every person who has faced their fears and helped raise vital funds for Weldmar Hospicecare. A huge thank you to the team at Adventure4All for partnering with us for the challenge and for their continued support.”
