Can I use cloakroom tickets for a raffle in advance of an event date?

For your information:

• You can sell cloakroom tickets to anyone attending the event.
• Physical tickets must be provided to participants, the numbers are perforated for you to give the duplicate number to the purchaser.
• There are no strict requirements for what information must be printed on the tickets, as long as you can identify the winning ones.
• You have the flexibility to charge any amount for a ticket, and even offer discounted tickets (such as “buy one get one free”).
• Tickets can also be sold for an incidental lottery to children.

Importantly:

You would need printed tickets if you wish to sell them in advance of an event. The information on the ticket should include:

• Date of the drawer
• Ticket price
• Charity number
• Promotor details
• Information on Licensed activity , under the Gambling Act
