Weldmar Hospicecare opens brand new charity shop in Yeovil town centre
6th December 2022
Weldmar Hospicecare has opened it’s first charity shop in Yeovil town centre.
The new shop is located on Middle Street in the town, and offers local people a range of fashion and accessories, household items, gifts and entertainment, and collectables at an affordable price.
Pictured left to right: shop manager Owen Chard, deputy manager Nicolina Dabbraccio, regional manager Veronica Leopold, Bonnie Jones from Weldmar at Home, regional manager Bev Peck, and volunteer Yvonne.

Owen Chard manages the shop and says, “It’s really exciting to finally open our doors here, and just in time for Christmas too. There were a number of people waiting to come in, which was lovely to see, and we’ve had a very warm welcome and positive response from everyone who’s come in on the first day.”
The shop was officially opened by Weldmar at Home team member Bonnie Jones, who is based locally. The new shop is the latest addition to the growing number of charity shops and outlets that are run by Weldmar Hospicecare.

Gavin Anderson-Terry is Director of Retail at Weldmar, and says, “It’s great to be able to expand our retail chain into south Somerset, and play a part in the town centre economy in Yeovil. We have Weldmar at Home and Weldmar Community Nurses who do see some patients this side of the border with Dorset. A number of people in north Dorset, where we provide services, do use Yeovil as a shopping destination.”
Volunteers wanted!
We are looking for volunteers who might like to spare a couple of hours a week helping out in our new charity shop in Yeovil. You might be serving at the till, sorting through donations, or ensuring the displays are attractive and well stocked.
If you would like to find out more, please pop into the shop on Middle Street, or call 01935 310610.
