Weldmar’s Blandford shop window wins “Best Charity Display” in town’s annual competition

The Blandford Shop team had big smiles put on their faces this week, when their jolly festive window won best Charity display in Blandford Forum’s annual Christmas window competition.

Blandford’s Mayor, Hugo Mieville, visited the shop with Cllr Rosemary Holmes to present Shop Manager, Becky, and volunteer Ann with a certificate and a £100 donation to Weldmar.

Hugo said:

“I was delighted to be able to present Weldmar a prize for the best Charity Christmas Window. Just as their Christmas service, which I attended as Mayor, was on the theme of ‘Light up a Life’, so their Christmas Window display lit up Blandford Market Place. Thank you, Weldmar!”

Becky was thrilled with the recognition:

“It was an honour to take part, every window in the town looks fantastic!

“A huge thank you to Lesli for creating such a wonderful display, and to the whole team for saving items to help bring it together.

“Being awarded £100 for the charity means so much and has truly lifted our spirits. Thank you to everyone who continues to support us.”
