We’re in! We finally move into our new Weymouth home, Trimar House
7th October 2019
< BACK TO NEWSAfter months of planning and refurbishment, we have finally moved into Trimar House – our new charity headquarters in Weymouth.
It is home to our Day Services for the town, a base for our south area Community Nurses, and where we operate head office functions such as Finance, Fundraising, Retail, Marketing, and People Services.
Trimar House is located in Cromwell Road, and the building was first used as a boys school before becoming an infant school, and most recently was the Horizon West family contact centre.

The move has been a year in the making.
Day Services (pictured below) will run at Trimar House every Monday. Jenny Wood, Day Services Lead, says, “It’s going to be really good for the patients, because we are now all on one floor, so access is a lot easier. We also have a really lovely area outside where we can develop our own garden, and with everyone else in the building, there is a bit more of a buzz about the place.”

As well as the Day Services area, Trimar House has a central atrium with tables and chairs, sofas, and a pod, where staff, visitors, and patients can relax or have meetings. There is also a separate board room, and free parking for those who use the building.
Weldmar Hospicecare’s CEO, Caroline Hamblett, says, “I’m so excited about it all. This building has a fantastic feel, it’s in the heart of Weymouth, which is so important to us for our patients and the people we serve, and actually having all our services together with our patients is wonderful. We’ve been able to sell our property at Greenhill, and use the funds to make this building all it needs to be, and we’ll be able to rent out our property in Poundbury which will enable us to do more services, so we can extend our Day Services in Weymouth over the next few months”.

An open evening and open weekend is being arranged for later in the autumn for local people to take a look around our new home.
