“It was so rewarding for us as a team” staff from Countrywide Grounds Maintenance volunteer at the grounds of our Inpatient Unit

Our thanks go to staff from Countryside Grounds Maintenance who kindly donated their time recently to volunteer with Weldmar Gardener Andrea at our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester. The team were tasked to cut two paths into a large bank that had overgrown with snowberry and brambles to allow Andrea to access the snowberry on a regular basis and to make it easier to cut brambles as close to the ground as possible.
Andrew Diment, Operations & Office Manager at Countrywide Grounds Maintenance, arranged for the team to volunteer, he said “I was asked by our Regional Manager of Countrywide Grounds Maintenance, George Beaty, to look into the possibility of allocating some voluntary time to a local charity / organisation, he thought it would be a nice thing to be able to do and whilst our current diary allows. Having made some approaches to see if anyone could utilise one of our teams, we were very pleased to hear back from Weldmar. “
“There are some of us who know more than too well what Weldmar have done for people so to be able to help them with an area within the grounds of the Hospice in Dorchester was so rewarding for us as a team. We would encourage any local business to give whatever support they can to this amazing organisation.”
Fiona Hansford, Fundraising Lead said “We are all so grateful to the team at Countrywide Grounds Maintenance for coming to the Inpatient Unit and volunteering their time to help tidy the grounds – they have done an absolutely amazing job. Businesses in the local community volunteering their time for Weldmar allows more of the funds that are raised to be spent on us providing specialist end of life care for adults with a life limiting illness, and support for their loved ones.”
