“We just couldn’t do what we do at Weldmar without their contribution” – we celebrate our wonderful Weldmar volunteers!
6th June 2024
< BACK TO NEWSOn the first week of June, charities across the country celebrate Volunteers Week – it’s a fantastic opportunity to appreciate the amazing work of volunteers!
Here at Weldmar, as part of Volunteers Week, we host an Annual Volunteer Celebration. This special event is an opportunity for us to thank all our volunteers for the incredible work they do! Volunteers from across the charity are invited to our beautiful meadows at our Inpatient Unit to enjoy a special buffet lunch (created by our Catering Team).
“Volunteers Week is a national celebration of everything that volunteers do up and down the country,” says Caroline Munslow, Weldmar’s Volunteer Services Lead, “we’ll be presenting our long service awards and our Room to Reward certificates today, and a lovely lunch, just to celebrate and say thank you for everything that they do for Weldmar.”

"Weldmar Hospicecare has 921 volunteers, who help in all sorts of areas across Weldmar. We just couldn't do what we do at Weldmar without their contribution."
As part of the celebration, Weldmar volunteers who have been part of the team for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years are awarded with a Weldmar Long Service Award, which recognises those who have given so much of their time to helping Weldmar Hospicecare!
Last year also welcomed a brand new award – the ‘Room to Reward’! This unique volunteer-recognition charity was created to offer breaks to hidden heroes, and we are delighted to be awarding it again this year to five Weldmar volunteers!
